What is AMS Technology?
Anti-Microbial Solutions LLC is the provider of a unique type of anti-microbial technology that can be placed in everyday gloves. After over three years of research and development, AMS Technology has offered new ways of directly integrating anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties into gloves. Omni International manufactures disposable vinyl and nitrile gloves that integrate this AMS Technology.
AMS technology encompasses both bacteriostatic (growth-inhibiting) and bactericidal properties. It consists of proprietary technology and manufacturing techniques that result in a very high degree of consistent anti-microbial and anti-fungal efficacy.
How Does AMS Technology Work?
Our revolutionary AMS Technology attacks bacteria by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms by using an electrochemical mode of action to penetrate and disrupt their cell walls.
When the cell walls are penetrated, leakage of metabolites occurs, and other cell functions are disabled, preventing the microorganism from functioning or reproducing. In terms of the effect against fungi, the anti-fungal agent depolarizes the membrane electro-potential and inhibits the cell from splitting under mitosis.
Moreover, AMS technology is entirely natural, non-allergenic, non-carcinogenic, and safe for individual use. Also, AMS is not a coating! AMS’s U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Anti-Microbial Agents are incorporated during the early stages of glove production.
Consequently, AMS has developed a built-in technology. Furthermore, this groundbreaking process allows for a consistent, integrated technology that stays in the glove throughout its use. (It is important to note that the anti-microbial protection does not extend beyond the glove, does not prevent disease, and is not a replacement for good hand hygiene.)
